Capturing living heritage
Diners see the bread, not the farmer, the miller and the baker who rely on one another. That knowledge is oral and fragile. We record it and share it for free.
We are making ten short documentaries about producers and makers who work together in the Belgian food landscape, spread across Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels. Each film follows at least two players who work together, preferably the full line-up from field to plate: farmer, miller, baker and chef. Free to watch in Dutch, French and English, with a lesson sheet for every film.

Both films were made together with Buzzup Creative. This is what an oriri documentary looks like.

Such connections keep old grain varieties, local livestock breeds and regional vegetables and fruit in use. According to the FAO, roughly three quarters of the genetic diversity of agricultural crops has been lost since the early twentieth century.
Farmers, millers, bakers and chefs get to speak to a broad audience: from foodies to students at hospitality and agricultural schools.
All films are available online with subtitles on oriri.food and on an open channel of the foundation, without a login, under a Creative Commons licence (BY-NC-ND).
Propose it. Free of charge, from January to December 2027, in Dutch or French.
Gastronomy is built by people: farmers, chefs, craftspeople and makers who put their skill into every dish. The oriri foundation exists to give something back to them. The films are our first project; alongside them, we are building four other initiatives step by step.
We organise and support events and champion the craftsmanship behind good food.
From tight margins to wellbeing and recognition of the profession: we give these challenges a platform.
Digital knowledge and cooperative tools that ease the operational burden on producers.
